Our People
At Hamilton West School we have a team committed to meeting the needs of the students who attend the school. The team consists of our:
Board of Trustees (BoT)
Our Board of Trustees have a governance role and set school policy for the Principal and staff at the school to implement. The Board is responsible for the financial managment of the school and developing and reviewing the school Charter.
Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
The PTA is responsible for school fundraising and social events. They are a small and dedicated team who is always looking for new members. If you are interested please contact Maree McCracken, email: mareemcc@gmail.com
Whanau Group
Our Whanau Group acts as a support group for families and kids at the school. The group aslo provides advice to the Principal on cultural issues and protocols and support our cultural programmes (Kapa Haka / Mau Rakau. Our Kaumatua is an active member of this group as well as being an elected Board of Trustees member.
Teachers
We have a committed teaching staff who strive to meet the needs of the students in their care. They provide a wonderful range of activities outside the classroom to help the school provide a well rounded education for the children.
Support Staff
We have a number of support staff who compliment the work done by the BoT, PTA, Principal and teaching staff. We are indeed lucky to have such dedicated support staff.
